GLACIER VIEW

Every Fourth of July in Glacier View, Alaska, cars are sent hurtling off a cliff as crowds gather to watch. Set against the vast Alaskan landscape, the annual car launch brings together small-town celebration, automotive destruction, and a distinctly American expression of freedom.

We travelled to Glacier View to make a short documentary about this surreal tradition and the people who give it life. Taking an observational, absurdist approach, the film explores the humour, spectacle, and communal release of the event, asking how launching old cars off a cliff becomes a meaningful ritual—and what draws people to experience it together.

The documentary is complete and awaiting public release. More about the film and where to watch it will be shared here when it becomes available.
